The benefits & ways children can contribute



Having your children contribute to family life is so important for their development and the health of your family as a unit. When children contribute to everyday tasks in the home, it helps to create a sense of belonging as well as independence and responsibility.


  • Get their input on what responsibilities they would like to have.

  • Make visuals to help them know what needs to get done.

  • Teach them the skill so they know how to do it. Just like math, they may not get it right away so be prepared to re-teach in a positive manner.

  • Make sure to let them know how great they are at helping and it’s appreciated.
